January 2022 HarmonyOS security update making its way to Honor Play 4 Pro smartphone users to provide better system security. As the security patch brings fixes for several vulnerabilities found latest HarmonyOS software system.

According to information, Honor Play 4 Pro January 2022 update comes with HarmonyOS build version 2.0.0.220. To acquire the latest firmware update, the corresponding device owners need baseline HM OS version 2.0.0.218.

Aside from this, Huawei has started testing new HarmonyOS features through a beta testing program. Currently, this HarmonyOS 2022 feature beta testing is available for a limited smartphone including Huawei Mate X2, Honor Play 4T Pro, and more.

On the other hand, the breaking news has also arrived that HarmonyOS 3.0 beta testing will start in March followed by stable releases expected in July. This reflects that Huawei is working according to the HarmonyOS 3.0 official roadmap.

Coming to security patch details, it resolves a total of 130 CVEs that belong to 4 CVE in the framework, 10 CVEs in the system, and 5 CVEs in the application. Additionally, it also resolves the massive count of 111 CVEs found in the third-party libraries.

How to update:

To update Honor Play 4 Pro smartphone, there are two methods mentioned below in the description. Before updating, please make sure that the device must be charged 30% and above. Also, maintain enough storage to download the update package and use a stable connection for buffer-free download.
