Honor plans smartphone business expansion in Indonesia
Honor aims to set its legs in Indonesia and expand its smartphone business. The company plans to meet the growing demands of premium handsets in the country with its top-end handsets featuring powerful AI tools and hardware capabilities.
Indonesia is the most populated country in the Southeast Asia. Setting up a business in the country will eventually open the doors to new opportunities and profit.
Keeping this in mind, Honor now aims its smartphone business expansion in Indonesia. The company will likely release more than 30 products in the country including flagship smartphones, tablets, earbuds, as well as classy wearables.
Alongside products, the company is expected to unveil more than 10 official experience stores this year. The President of Honor South Pacific – Justin Li said:
“In future economic cycles, we are very confident in the potential of the Indonesian market – both in terms of the overall market and the mid-premium smartphone segment – considering the country is the largest economy in Southeast Asia with the biggest and youngest population.”
Li mentioned these words in a briefing last Friday. With this statement, it seems the company will unveil its new products in Indonesia starting in Q1 2025. Li stated that the OEM will mainly focus on mid-to-high-end devices in the country.
Honor’s plan to step up in Indonesia hints that Chinese vendors are eager to enter the overseas market. Since Huawei is already taking up huge space in China, other OEMs are finding ways to gain more profits by jumping into the global race.
The President further noted that Honor is bridging its gap in the Southeast Asian markets. The current aim is to gain ground in Indonesia where Samsung and Apple already dominate with a high share.
