Honor Magic V Flip 2 leak reveals launch timeline, upgraded features

Honor has launched Magic V5 as the world’s thinnest, lightest, and smartest AI foldable. And now it has started working on a new folding device. A leak reveals details about the Honor Magic V Flip 2 launch timeline and some key specifications.
According to the information, Honor may not launch the Magic V Flip 2 this month. Instead, the clamshell product is expected to go official in August (next month).
It looks like the company isn’t rushing commercialization despite pressure following Huawei’s Pura X popularity in the Chinese foldable smartphone market.
The details suggested certain key specs of the Honor Magic V Flip 2, apart from its launch timeline. Unlike the Magic V5, the flip-flop model didn’t get major changes in the battery. It may feature a dual-cell with a total capacity of 5370/5500mAh.
In terms of screen, the new-gen Magic V Flip may bring a 6.8-inch LTPO main screen with FHD+ resolution and a 4-inch LTPO cover display with a 50MP (1/1.5-inch) main camera and dual-lens setup.
The overall specifications are quite identical to the previous-gen Magic V Flip model. Although changes may appear with battery, design, and the Snapdragon 8 series sub-flagship chipset.
Honor may power up the device with 66W or 80W charging support. Other parameters are unknown at present, but there could be significant changes in the foldable’s appearance.
Notably, the leak says that Huawei, Xiaomi, and Honor are the only brands to launch a new-gen small vertical folding phone this year. For Huawei, this device could be the mid-range Nova Flip 2. Other brands may update their clamshell products in 2026.
