Honor Magic 8 series can feature upgraded 200MP periscope camera

Honor Magic 8 series flagship models may debut a major camera upgrade – a 200MP periscope. The company is reportedly considering a massive image sensor upgrade for the next generation of its premium smartphone range.
Weibo leaker SmartPikachu revealed that Honor is evaluating to upgrade its 200MP periscope camera by the end of this year for the Magic 8 series smartphones.
The tipster didn’t reveal many details about the camera. It hints the next-gen Magic series will bring a top-end camera setup for an enhanced photography experience.
Honor introduced a 200MP 1/1.4-inch ultra-large and ultra-sensitive periscope telephoto lens with the Magic 7 RSR Porsche Edition in December last year. The high-definition camera has an f/1.88 ultra-large aperture.
It is made up of 1G + 5P floating periscope technology that helps create macro blockbuster moments in a second. The camera equips a dual-electromagnetic focus motor merged with 1200 laser radar array focusing system that freezes the oncoming wonderful moments and captures clearer and brighter shots.
As a result, macro-photography lovers get perfect shots irrespective of the distance or lighting conditions. AI RAW further increases the telephoto clarity by up to 50%.
Coming back to the leak, the company could further upgrade this ultimate periscope camera for the Magic 8 series in the coming days. The new add-ons are a secret at the moment. Though we may get more revelations in the time ahead.
