Honor Magic 8 RSR rumored to use 1-inch self-made main camera

Honor Magic 8 series will be the next addition to the company’s flagship line. And the lineup has started emerging in the leaks. A recent rumor suggests that the Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design will feature a 1-inch, self-developed main camera.
The Chinese phone maker introduced a dynamic periscope lens with Magic 7 RSR model last year. Looks like we may witness a powerful main camera this time.
Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu says the high-end model of the Honor Magic 8 series (RSR variant) will use the company’s self-made 1-inch main camera sensor. It will further feature a super large variable aperture for better light intake capability.
Adding more details, the tipster suggested that the self-developed main lens is currently “exclusive” to the Magic 8 RSR. But if accurate, Honor may use this camera technology for the Magic 8 Pro smartphone and some other flagship handsets.

Following the leak, a few netizens speculated that Honor could feature Huawei Pura 80 Ultra’s main camera. A previous rumor predicted that Pura maker is developing a 1-inch primary shooter for its upcoming flagship smartphone lineup.
Honor hasn’t confirmed this news at present. Judging from the Magic 7 RSR launch, it seems the company may introduce an iconic camera technology for the upcoming RSR variant. Details will become clearer in the upcoming months.
Magic 7 RSR uses a 200MP AI super periscope telephoto camera with 100x digital zoom. The ultra-high-definition lens claims to easily restore color and offer accurate details in every click, regardless of the light conditions and surroundings.
It would be worth seeing what magical upgrades the upcoming Honor Magic series will bring to the surface. Note that the latest information in based on rumor and may change with the upcoming revelations.
