Honor Magic 8 mini could feature 3D face and fingerprint security

Honor Magic 8 series will likely have a mini flagship smartphone, which is rumored to use 3D face and fingerprint recognition. It could be the world’s first small phone to bring a dual 3D biometric technology to provide users with extreme security.
Weibo tipster @DirectorShiGuan notes that the upcoming Magic 8 series will be the most amazing Honor flagship. It is expected to be an “all-rounder” phone lineup.
The tipster adds that the company will craft the new Magic handsets with a few exclusive hardware components. Magic 8 models may bring incredible technologies to surprise everyone. Major changes could also be visible in the imaging system.
Honor Magic 8 “Mini”
Inputs further highlighted the small Honor flagship. As mentioned earlier, the company will introduce a mini top-end model in its Magic line this year.
This flagship (say Honor Magic 8 mini) smartphone is now said to feature 3D face + fingerprint recognition security. According to the latest leak, the device will bring a small flat screen, new camera features, and many other interesting functionalities.
Although the major implementation will be the dual 3D biometric technology. It could be the first “mini” device to bring a 3D fingerprint scanner and a 3D face recognition system.
- 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor: It uses ultrasonic waves to scan a user’s finger and generate a detailed 3D map of finger ridges, valleys, and pores. Thus, it creates a highly secure and accurate lock shield for the device. It works even when the finger is dirty or wet.
- 3D face recognition: It uses 3D geometric information of a face and enables identification with higher accuracy than 2D methods. It verifies lighting, pose, and expressions to ensure the person’s identity.
Honor seemingly plans to rival the Apple iPhone mini with its upcoming small flagship. Other whopping parameters of the device will be known in the time ahead.
