Honor Magic 7 gets new MagicOS 9 update with camera fixes, AI features

Honor is rolling out a new MagicOS 9.0 update for the Magic 7 series with a few camera fixes and an AI photo-editing tool. The company also enhanced home screen segments and system stability of the flagship phones, offering a stable experience.

Magic 7 series comes out of the box with MagicOS 9.0 upgrade. Android 15-based upgrade offers several smart features that ease daily-life smartphone scenarios.

On the flip side, the company is constantly introducing new features that can offer more suitable experience to users. As of now, the Honor Magic 7 series is receiving camera fixes and AI features with the latest MagicOS 9.0 update.

The Magic 7 phone users can identify the update with the MagicOS 9.0.0.165 version. They need to download a software package of 1.22GB to install new features.

According to the changelog, the company improves the brightness and imaging effects of food photography and portraits. It also fixes the document scanning issue that restricts saving the image in the gallery.

AI super-clear tool

Honor has further added the AI super-clear image that turns all blurred shots into clarity. You don’t have to search for an app to smoothen and clarify your images. Just select the AI super-clear tool in the Gallery and the image will become clearer.

Camera

• Optimized food photography effects
• Optimized the brightness of high-magnification portraits
• Fixed the issue where document scans from the camera could not be automatically saved to the gallery.

Gallery

• Added a new time grouping feature that supports displaying photos and videos by day/date. (Path: Gallery > Photos > three dots in the upper right corner > Show time groups.
• Added AI super-clear image feature. (Path: Gallery > Select Image > AI Edit > Magic Photo > AI Super-Clear.

Home Screen

• Supports a customized home screen and you can customize any segment of the home screen to improve usage flexibility.
• Added the feature of hiding app names. When it is turned on, the names of home screen icons, cards, and folders will be hidden, making the interface more concise. (Path: Pinch the home screen with two fingers > home screen settings > turn on hiding app names)

Collection Space

• Added new settings for displaying picture collections. You can set pictures to be displayed in both the gallery and the Collection Space or only in the Collection Space according to your needs. (Path: three dots in the upper right corner of the collection space > Settings > Display Settings > Picture Collections.

Stability

• Improved system stability and makes your phone run more stably.

Security Patches

• Integrated March 2025 security patch to enhance system security.
