Honor Magic 6 series is getting AI super telephoto feature update

Honor Magic 6 series is now getting a new MagicOS 9.0 update that unlocks the AI super telephoto feature for the device. The new addition enhances the macrophotography aspects of the smartphone and offers crisper and more detailed shots.

AI super telephoto camera feature debuted with the Magic 7 series powered by MagicOS 9. The feature ensures to improve the landscape shooting effect in the telephoto mode. It also optimizes normal photo mode, 30x zoom, and other segments.

The Honor Magic 6 series is receiving the AI super telephoto feature with the MagicOS 9.0.0.165 software version and a downloadable package size of 1.03GB.

Up to this point, the feature is only available to the Magic 7 series and has now approached the Magic 6 lineup. It may soon be available on more devices with the upcoming updates.

Apart from the new feature, the update improved battery life, adds amazing changes to the home screen and makes the Gallery app more useful for users.

Battery Life

• Optimizes the battery life experience. Optimizes typical user scenarios through the AI smart power-saving engine and reduces redundant power consumption of background apps. After the upgrade, the battery life experience in standby and typical scenarios will be improved.

Home Screen

• Supports a customized home screen, and you can customize any segment of the home screen to improve usage flexibility.
• Added the feature of hiding app names. When it is turned on, the names of home screen icons, cards, and folders will be hidden, making the interface more concise. (Path: Pinch the home screen with two fingers > home screen settings > turn on hiding app names)

Ringtones

• Incoming calls can now be set to online ringtones, with 100+ new ringtones available for you to choose from. Path: Settings > Sounds and Vibration > Inccoming Ringtones > Online Ringtones.

Collection Space

• Added new settings for displaying picture collections. You can set pictures to be displayed in both the gallery and the Collection Space or only in the Collection Space, according to your needs. (Path: three dots in the upper right corner of the collection space > Settings > Display Settings > Picture Collections.

Stability

• Improve system stability and make your phone run more stably.

Gallery

• Added AI super-clear image feature (Path: Gallery > Select Image > AI Edit > Magic Photo > AI super-clear image)

Camera

• Added a new AI super telephoto feature to improve the landscape shooting effect in telephoto scenarios. in normal photo mode, zoom to 30x or above and turn on the AI super telephoto switch in the lower left corner to turn it on.
• Fixed the issue where document scans from the camera could not be automatically saved to the gallery.

Security

• Integrated March 2025 security patch to enhance system security.
