Today, Honor launched its C1 network chipset with Honor Magic 5 smartphones in China and compared its 5G capabilities with Huawei and Apple. On stage, Honor CEO, Zhao Ming said that Huawei Mate 40 Pro is the benchmark in 5G network technologies but now, Honor has surpassed it.

Actually, Honor C1 is a radio frequency chipset, which promises to provide the best connectivity in low network availability areas. Also, for people who don’t know that contrast of this story, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro was the last Huawei flagship phone with a 5G chipset. Later released phones come with 4G.

Honor says its self-developed radio frequency enhancement chip can increase the antenna transmission intake by 17%. While the antenna reception increased by 35%, the Wi-Fi rate by 200%, and the Wi-Fi latency is reduced by up to 90%.

After announcing the chipset, Honor compared the C1-powered Magic 5 with Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max in a low network area. The speed of the Honor Magic 5 reached 275Mbps, Huawei Mate 40 Pro reached 180Mbps and iPhone 14 Pro Max reached 10.1Mbps.

In terms of calling, Honor Magic 5 Pro achieved -8dBm call disconnection, Mate 40 Pro reached -4dBm call disconnection and iPhone 14 Pro Max had -2dBm.

These are pretty good results in low-network scenarios but there should be a user review that we need to wait for.

The network enhancement feature is supported by a cellular multi-antenna fusion tuning algorithm. It optimizes the antenna performance and smart switching by adjusting according to the network strength.

Furthermore, the new multi-standard antenna fusion algorithm can improve the transceiver performance of a 2.4GHz single antenna by 17 percent and the WiFi rate by 200%.

More on this, Honor Magic 5 lineup supports DSDA mode dual-SIM dual standby, which enables to the establishment of dual lanes between SIM 1 and SIM 2 without using resources of each other to maintain ongoing operations.

Other than that, Honor is also using its own Bluetooth antenna architecture for high connectivity and no-lag WiFi connection.
