Honor claims first spot in China’s foldable phone market for Q3 2023

Honor has surpassed Huawei to win first place in China’s foldable phone market for the Q3 of 2023 with a 28% market share in the reported quarter.

According to the market research from China’s Omdia shows that the third quarter foldable phone sales increased to 1.7 million units. In Q3 2023, Honor ranked first in overall foldable phone sales.

The former Huawei smartphone subsidiary claimed a 28% market share, which is an increase of 17 times year-on-year compared to the past year.

Among the models sold in China, Honor Magic V2 has become the top product in the foldable phones market with a share of 25% of sales in Q3. The data further reveals that the new Honor Magic V2 exceeded the sales volume of 800,000 units in just over 4 months of time.

Since Honor is now sitting in the top spot, Huawei has to come second in the tally with 26% of the overall market share.

Samsung still has a strong presence in China with 19% shares in third place and Oppo and Vivo have 11% and 10% shares respectively.
