Honor CEO claims Magic V5 to be world’s lightest and thinnest foldable

Honor CEO Li Jian recently claimed that the upcoming Magic V5 will be the world’s lightest and thinnest foldable phone to date. The executive said these words during the Shanghai MWC 2025 event’s first day, hyping its new folding product.

During the event, Li announced that the Honor Magic V5 as the world’s lightest and thinnest foldable, will launch on July 2. The chief didn’t reveal any internal parameters or dimensions of the new handset, yet suggested it to be the slimmest.

It’s the first time that Honor claimed its foldable phone to be the thinnest one in the world. Months ago, one of the company’s official said that the firm will always be the first in terms of lightweight and super-thin foldable, attacking OPPO.

Although the current statement has arrived a few weeks before the official unveiling of the Magic V5. After the CEO’s words, many tipsters said that the new folding handset will likely measure 8mm in the unfolded state and weigh 210-220 grams.

The CEO further explained that the Magic V5 will come as one of the most advanced AI devices on the market. It will integrate a combination of four capabilities

Other features in the list count HDR video recording capabilities, a 200MP periscope camera, high-end satellite communication, a 6100mAh battery, and 66W charging.

AI features for the new phone are currently unknown. But the company has been investing in the AI segment for a long while. It even promised to boost the production of artificial intelligence-powered devices this year. Hence, we may witness some ultimate functionalities with the Magic V5.
