HarmonyOS NEXT to bring improved MeeTime calling features in Q2 2025

HarmonyOS NEXT could introduce improved calling features for MeeTime in Q2 2025. The company has recently confirmed new changes for the major software upgrade. Users will soon observe an impressive calling experience via 5.0 version.

The company is constantly improving its self-made OS with new beta builds. It is adding new features related to the camera, UI enhancements, and the security segment.

Now, the company has officially scheduled new calling features for MeeTime with HarmonyOS NEXT in Q2 2025. While responding to some questions, the Huawei Customer Service moderator suggested upcoming changes in the software.

Yu Chengdong, the Chairman of Huawei Consumer Business, reposted a blog via a netizen on the IQIYI native HarmonyOS app. In the same post, a user asked when the MeeTime app would get a screen-sharing feature and other improvements.

In response, Huawei Device Customer Service said that the current build of HarmonyOS NEXT doesn’t support call transfer, call projection, and screen-sharing features for the MeeTime app. Although the company may push these tools in Q2.

Note that the MeeTime app already supports the call transfer and screen-sharing features. But following the new HarmonyOS NEXT upgrade, the tech giant removed the features for some time. Now, it may return with the upcoming software builds.

The screen-sharing tool enables users to share the screen while talking with others. It is a useful capability at times when you are in a meeting or want to share some document details with your friends/family.

Call transfer, on the other hand, allows users to efficiently manage multi-screen collaboration. It automatically transfers the call from a smartphone to a tablet, computer, or a car seamlessly, without breaking the connection.
