HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.150 public beta is out for Huawei Mate 70, Pura 70

Huawei is rolling out a new HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.150 public beta with a set of interesting features. The update is approaching all eligible handsets and tablets gradually. By that time, let’s have a look at the huge changelog and its features.

Pura X launched with the stable HarmonyOS 5.0 version. Although the tech giant is still releasing the public beta builds for its eligible models. Perhaps this could be the last beta version before a wider stable update release.

The company has introduced new capabilities for the home screen and a screen-sharing feature for the MeeTime app with the new version. Users can share the screen while on a video call and doodle the screen to help others understand.

Air Transfer for Huawei Music

Huawei has added air transfer gesture support for Huawei Music. Users can now grab a song from one Huawei device and transfer it to another. Though both handsets should be running on the HarmonyOS NEXT version.

Speaking of the devices, the firm is bringing the new HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.150 update to Mate 70, Pura 70, Mate 60/Mate X5, Pocket 2 series, and more.

HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.150 Public Beta

Home Screen

• Pinch the home screen to select multiple apps, long press to drag to the right corner to delete.
• Added a new Phone Manager home screen widget to quickly manage storage, battery, traffic, etc. (Pinch the home screen > widgets > phone manager)

MeeTime

• New screen sharing and graffiti features. You can share your screen with the other party during a video call, demonstrate while talking, and doodle on the screen to help with understanding.

Healthy use of equipment

• Optimize the experience of the Minors Mode, such as adding a reminder to start the Minors Mode to guide the user to use the device healthily.
• Remote Guardian supports binding the child’s account by scanning the QR code.

System

• Air Transfer supports Huawei Music (Huawei Music app needs to be updated to the latest version), which allows you to easily grab songs from this device and transfer them to other HarmonyOS 5.0 devices. (Settings > System > Quick Launch and Gestures > Air Transfer)

Browser

• The web video assistant experience has been upgraded. Full-screen playback supports sliding up and down on both sides to adjust the volume and brightness (the browser needs to be upgraded to version 5.1.3.300 and above)
• Long press the app icon to add a morning newspaper widget to your home screen, where you can watch and listen to the daily news.
