HarmonyOS can take PC experience to next level, says Huawei

A Huawei senior official recently said that HarmonyOS can take PC experience to a level beyond imagination. The new software product will debut in May this year, and before that, the company shared some insights about it.
During an interview, Huawei Consumer Business Chairman Richard Yu said that the HarmonyOS PC can offer an unexpected user experience. It will have a range of exciting surprises for both previous and upcoming notebooks.
“It will definitely bring greater value, and the experience will be beyond imagination” -says Richard Yu.
On the other hand, a Huawei insider reported that HarmonyOS PC will come with dual app support versions. It means the new computer software can be compatible with both native HarmonyOS apps and Windows applications.
The input is in line with previous revelations that say HarmonyOS PC may support Windows apps. Although the insider mentioned that Huawei will gradually develop its independent software ecosystem for all devices in the time ahead.
Windows app support in HarmonyOS PC suggests that the daily office and gaming experience won’t be affected, for users. Those relying on Windows applications can continue to use them even when they switch to HarmonyOS PC notebooks.

Apart from the software, Huawei is developing a new Kirin PC chip that has allegedly been spotted on the internet. It is expected to launch soon with a new MateBook.
The company has confirmed the HarmonyOS PC launch for May. It will likely adopt a new UI design with enhanced features. For instance, it could bring a new status bar on the top side housing different tools and services, just like a Control Center.
It will further carry an app dock on the bottom, showing frequently used apps and allowing users to easily access their favorite applications without finding them in the menu.
