HarmonyOS 5.1 spotted at Huawei MAEXTRO brand event

Huawei today held the HarmonyOS Smart Driving x MAEXTRO Technology brand event where it accidentally spilled beans on the new HarmonyOS 5.1 software version. Looks like the company is ready to unveil another dynamic build for its devices.
Official inputs reveal that HarmonyOS 5.1 is in the development phase and will soon debut on the consumer platform. The version spotted when the tech giant was explaining a crucial feature of the all-new MAEXTRO S800 smart sedan.
The Chinese OEM hosted the event to debut the MAEXTRO S800 smart car on the consumer platform. During the conference, the company revealed that the automobile will be available for selling purposes by the end of H1 2025.
At the same time, the company revealed that the MAEXTRO S800 will be the first car to feature Huawei Galaxy Communications. The new term refers to “ultra-wide-angle satellite connectivity” with a beam width of 160-degree.
Many smart cars nowadays support satellite communication features. But Huawei has opted for a different scheme in this segment. Unlike the other in-vehicle satellite communication techs, the S800 car will offer 50% faster satellite connection speed.
On the flip side, the feature will reduce the call establishment time by 20%. Users will be able to connect with a smart car satellite call in seconds.
Now here comes the Huawei HarmonyOS 5.1 version. As per the teaser, the new Galaxy Communication feature will work only with the HarmonyOS 5.1 and above builds.
Users with a HarmonyOS 5.1-powered device can use the in-vehicle satellite features of the MAEXTRO S800. The company hasn’t mentioned many details about the new version. But the upcoming HarmonyOS build will unlock more interesting capabilities.
