HarmonyOS 5.0 update for Mate 40 series under consideration: Huawei CEO

The Mate 40 series has been one of the most successful Huawei smartphones, and the chances of this device receiving the latest HarmonyOS 5.0 software update are pretty high.
He Gang, CEO of Huawei’s smart device business group, said the company has no intentions to close upgrades for the Mate 40 series. This reflects the Chinese tech maker’s commitment to customers to keep the phone functional.
The Huawei chief also said it’s still considering on how to upgrade the Mate 40 series to HarmonyOS 5.0. He also acknowledged tens of millions of users who are aggressively providing feedback for the new update.
HarmonyOS 5.0 AKA HarmonyOS Next is a new operating system built on the HarmonyOS. It is designed with full AI integration and improved efficiency for complicated tasks. Huawei has already upgraded the Mate 40 series with HarmonyOS, but the question on another major update remains open.
