HarmonyOS 5.0.1.130 brings new features for Huawei Mate 70, foldable PC, and more

Huawei has started rolling out HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.1.130 update for its devices, including the Mate 70 series, MateBook Fold PC, MatePad tablets, and more. The company has packed various new features and improvements into this firmware.

According to the changelog, the HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.1.130 update has amazing features for every device, whether it’s Mate 70 smartphones, the foldable PC, or tablets.

Starting with smartphones, Huawei is introducing a new dynamic photo switch feature that turns an ordinary picture into a dynamic one. It scales up lights, shadows, and complexion, and makes the image more realistic than before.

The company has also added a new Control Center swipe gesture for some devices. It enables you to switch between Quick Settings and Notification Panel right from the Control Center. There is no need to swipe from the top of the screen.

Coming to the foldable PC, Huawei is bringing a set of new features for the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design. It is getting certain fixes for multi-screen collaboration, Celia features, and the App Store. You can check the complete changelog below.

HarmonyOS 5.0.1.130: Phones & Tablets

Camera

• Added a new dynamic photo switch to the top of the normal photo mode. Turn it on to take dynamic photos. Long-press the dynamic photo in the gallery to preview the image.

Gallery

• Video playback supports horizontal and vertical screen switching, and long-pressing the video screen to play at double speed.
• When editing a picture, click the mosaic or graffiti icon to mosaic or graffiti the picture.

System

• Supports pulling down from the upper right corner of the screen to open the Control Center when the screen is locked (Settings > Biometrics and Passwords > Allow pull-down Control Center)
• Support page switching by swiping left or right in the Control Center and notification panel.

Memo

• Supports exporting memos to DOC document format for easy viewing and sharing.
• Long-press a single note and select Enable Note Lock to lock the note content with one click.

Display Effects

• This update optimizes some interface display effects.

The update is rolling out in batches and may take some time to cover all the eligible devices like Mate 70 series, Mate 60, Pura 70 series, Pocket 2, Mate X5/X6 foldable phones, MatePad Pro 13.2 and 11 tablets, and more.

Home Screen

• Optimize the fluency of jumping to the app by clicking on the notification center message.
• Optimize the experience of dragging the folder icon to the Dock bar
• Fixed the issue where the Dock bar sometimes does not hide when the application is displayed in full screen.

Multi-Screen Collaboration

• Fixed the issue that files dragged across devices to Xiaoyi could not be recognized in multi-screen collaboration scenarios.

Celia

• Optimize the voice input function of the Celia input method, and voice input is more accurate.
• Optimize Xiaoyi’s voice recognition capabilities and improve the voice recognition experience.

File Management

• Added support for the network neighbor feature
• Optimized the recent access record feature of file management.

App Store

• Fixed the issue that some options in the “My” interface of the App Market cannot be clicked.

Browser

• Optimized the stability of the browser in multi-tab conditions.

Apps

• Optimize the user experience of some office software printing scenarios, and make page settings and other operations smoother.
• Fixed the problem that pictures cannot be inserted when editing documents using Office software in certain scenarios.

System

• Improve the stability and performance of the whole machine, providing you with a smoother operating experience.
• Optimize the touchpad operation experience.
