Google restricts Pixel 6 to install Android 12L beta, after February update rollout

Last week, Google has dispatched the latest February 2022 Android security update for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. After installing the update, Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users reported that they are not able to install the Android 12L beta 3.

Further, the Pixel 6 series smartphone user also mentioned that they can still enroll the device for beta testing via google.com/android/beta. But, OTA updates do not appear even after 24 hours of registration.

On the other hand, Google has plans to roll out one more Android 12L beta version ahead of a stable release. Meanwhile, the Pixel 6 users have started worrying about the next beta update.

Google has acknowledged this problem and announced that if you are enrolling your Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro for Android 12L beta as well as installed the February update. Then, the corresponding device owner will not get 12L Beta 3 but they will get access to the beta build release in March 2022.

Besides this, the Android 13 beta could appear in April. Although, the wait of the Pixel 6 device owners for the next beta is reducing the issue irritating for those that want Wi-Fi fixes and other improvements offered by Android 12L Beta 3.

February 2022 security update details:

The February 2022 security update for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro has arrived with build version SQ1D.220205.004 and an update the size of around 10MB. Although the security patch doesn’t bring much of improvements on the surface.

Google already managed Bluetooth audio disable and audio quality issues, moreover Camera related device restart. The company always tries to give smooth performance but unintentionally some problem occurs as a headache to consumers.
