Google Play new data safety section to hide app permission?
Google is about to dispatch its new data safety section for Android users, although the developer deadline is looming that Google may turn off the separate app permissions section.
But if implemented it harms users’ privacy and data security badly, this doesn’t sound like a great move for privacy at all. However, the new data security section is Google’s response to a similar feature in iOS 14.
With the launch of the Data Safety section on Google Play, which will be mandatory for all apps in 1 week, it seems the app permissions list is going away in both the mobile app and the web.

This shows the privacy consideration information provided by the developer like what data your app collects, how it is stored, and with whom it is shared word.
Here’s exactly what Google narrates to developers on the new section policy:
“That they are solely responsible for making complete and accurate statements in your App Store listing on Google Play. Google Play reviews apps for all policy requirements. However, we cannot decide how to process user data on behalf of developers. You just have all the information you need to complete the data security form. If Google becomes aware of any difference between your program’s behavior and your statement, it may take appropriate action, including enforcement action.“
