Samsung is seemingly planning to take help from a Huawei chip expert to boost its Exynos 2600 GPU development. Rumors have it that the South Korean tech giant recently hired a former Huawei employee who has great chipmaking knowledge.

Exynos 2600 is Samsung’s next-gen chipset, which may debut with Galaxy S26 smartphones. But this time, the company is planning an in-house GPU implementation in the chip. Perhaps this effort may require Huawei’s help!

The South Korean company has been integrating AMD’s Xclipse GPUs into Exynos chips for a long time. Although everything requires a good change. It seems Samsung wants more control over its chipsets and prefers to build its own GPUs.

Weibo tipster @FixedFocus noted that a former Huawei chip expert will be leading the development of Samsung Exynos 2600 GPUs. Other details related to this matter are currently unknown. But things might be uncovered in the coming days.

Huawei has always faced challenges when it comes to chip development. Yet the fact is that it is only struggling due to US sanctions and the lack of advanced chipmaking tools.

Kirin 9010 and 9020 are the perfect examples that suggest that if the company had cutting-edge tools, it could have surpassed many tech rivals in the market.
