Fingerprint and system optimizations released for Huawei Mate 40 with new update

On October 30, 2020 Huawei has launched its latest flagship, Huawei Mate 40 series in China. The Mate 40 is the standard model from this lineup that comes with 6.5 inches OLED display, Kirin 9000E processor, EMUI 11, 50MP triple rear camera, 13MP selfie camera, a 4200mAh battery, and more.

Following the launch, Huawei is continuously delivering the new software updates for Mate 40 devices for further improvements that improve the users’ experience.

Now, a new software update is rolling out for Huawei Mate 40 that comes with new optimizations for fingerprint unlocking experience and improves the system stability, which enhances the overall device performance.

The previous update of Huawei Mate 40 brought the optimizations for camera stability, video shooting effect, and WeChat voice messaging experience.

NOTE:

  1. Currently, this update is rolling out in China.
  2. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  3. The update will not erase any data.

New version:

  • Huawei Mate 40 smartphone users getting EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.160 SP1 upgraded from 11.0.0.120.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
