February 2025 Huawei security patch details are out as EMUI 15 still absent

We are in February 2025, and Huawei has updated EMUI and HarmonyOS security patch details for its devices. The latest patch holds certain fixes to boost the security of your phone. Meanwhile, the details of the next EMUI build are still unknown.
EMUI 15 is currently in limbo, and there’s no clue of its whereabouts. The company teased the version with Mate X6 foldable. But thereafter, it didn’t reveal any inputs or an official roadmap about the upcoming major software upgrade.
Huawei has completed the EMUI 14 rollout for its eligible devices, and users are eagerly waiting for the next version’s announcement. It looks like the company will take more time to unveil the new EMUI build to its device owners.
Ahead of that, the phone maker has released the February 2025 EMUI and HarmonyOS security patch details. The new security improvements package solves 10 CVEs and 24 third-party library defects found in the last software version.
February 2025 security patch targets 1 high and 9 medium levels of CVEs. It also fixes 5 critical, 11 high, 4 medium, and 4 low third-party library issues.
These vulnerabilities were related to the media library, UI, VPN, Gallery, and other modules. They could exploit the significant aspects of the security system, resulting in malfunctioning of the device, data leaks, or any other internal issues.
Hence, we recommend grabbing the new security patch as soon as it rolls out. In case you miss any update alerts, visit Settings > System & Updates > Software Updates > and wait for the handset to fetch the latest version from the server.
