Ex-AVATR CMO says 2024 was tough for automotive brands except Huawei, BYD
Former AVATR CMO – Li Pengcheng has recently shared a post on Weibo saying that 2024 was a tough year for many automotive brands, except for Huawei, Xiaomi, and BYD. These three companies did well in the Chinese automobile market.
Li Pengcheng stated that 2024 appeared as the “darkest moment” for many automotive marketers. Since Huawei, Xiaomi, and BYD have their own traffic in the automobile sector, they have achieved excellent grades and didn’t suffer in this game.
Meanwhile, other automotive brands find it difficult to score more than the bosses. Li believes that most companies rely on traditional methods that are not only expensive but also don’t offer quick results. One should learn about trendy marketing methods and must be prepared for change and war at any time.
The former AVATR CMO further says that Huawei, BYD, and Xiaomi have used advanced marketing tricks in 2024, compared to other automotive brands. Apart from innovative solutions and products, these brands made good promotions.
He added that Chinese automotive brands can use live-streaming during the product launch to generate a lot of traffic. Likewise, one can find more media-based methods to boost product promotion at a minimal cost.
Huawei Smart Automotive Solution Business
The Chinese OEM earned a huge profit from its smart automotive solution business unit in 2024. The company unveiled the Qiankun solution series which has become a top choice for automakers, especially the ADS 3.0. Many smart car vendors have adopted the ADS 3.0 technology for their brand-new SUVs.
At the same time, HarmonyOS-powered AITO models rewrote the history of the Chinese car industry with top-notch features and powerful hardware capabilities. Huawei now seeks to make way in the million-level luxury car market with its tech-pack solutions.
