At HDC 2020, Huawei unveiled a number of new software technologies including the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system as well as the EMUI 11 software.

EMUI 11 comes with a bunch of new features and changes in the software ecosystem including the new artistic theme for always-on display, improved multi-window mode, smoother UI animations, subtle effect on the notification bar, new Notepad app additions, better multi-screen collaboration, and more.

After the announcement, Huawei began testing the EMUI 11 beta on Huawei P40, Mate 30, and MatePad Pro devices initially in China and later in the global market.

The previous flagship such as Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are also eligible to get the EMUI 11 upgrade, as these smartphones have already completed the installation of this latest EMUI build last December.

On the other hand, Huawei announced that the global variants of the Huawei P30 will get EMUI 11 by the first quarter of 2021. As of now, Huawei has not begun the rollout but new inputs suggest that the EMUI 11 for Huawei P30 models will start to release by this month (February 2021).

Aside from the initial rollout, the update will expand gradually throughout March and may take some time to cover every Huawei P30 user around the globe.
