EMUI 12 power key

Recently, we published a story that EMUI should also have a virtual power key and it has received some positive responses from our readers. It seems most people want to see this feature in the EMUI ecosystem. Adding this, EMUI 12 doesn’t support any type of virtual key to turn off the smartphone or restart it from the software itself.

However, the use of the power key on the EMUI device will simplify the shutdown and restart functionality for the consumer. This would also ease access to such a feature and remove the hassle of keeping the hold of the power button for a long time.

Still, Huawei doesn’t indicate introducing such a required feature with the upcoming OTA update but we definitely want to see it coming on Huawei devices. Talking more on this matter, Samsung and Google already have the virtual power key feature on the quick settings area of the software and it’s quite convenient.

Aside from EMUI, Huawei also doesn’t feature a power key on the control panel area of the HarmonyOS operating system. So, we cannot say, whether Huawei has taken forward a step for this operating system or its approach is different. We’ll wait to find out more.

Until then, do let us know what do you think of whether Huawei should add a power key on its mobile software.
