China slams US decision to remove Huawei telecom towers in Panama

A new tension has appeared in front of Huawei, where the US is claiming to remove the Chinese OEMs’ telecom towers from Panama. The United States authorities launched an $8 million project to edge out the “risk-posing” firm out of the country.
Panama is a country in Central America. In the current scenario, US aims to replace the Huawei telecommunication towers in Panama, located across 13 sites in the country.
The US even launched an $8 million project to swap away Huawei towers in Panama with its secure technology. At the same time, it will add seven new communication towers in four provinces to expand seamless coverage across Panama.
Inputs reveal that the new operation will take around two years to complete. Prior to this work, China’s Foreign Minister Guo Jiakun criticized the US claim for once again trying to oust Chinese companies in the technological segment.
On Monday, Guo Jiakun attended a press conference and said that the US has been responsible for a negative influence on the Western Hemisphere for a long time.
He added that the US has been making countries on the American continent feel unsafe and insecure about Chinese firms. However, that was never the case.

Guo mentioned that China has always cared for and supported Latin America, Caribbean countries, and Panama, opposing bullying and foreign interference.
“Latin America and the Caribbean are not anyone’s backyard. The US should put away its domineering attitude, stop politicizing economic, trade, and technological issues, stop interfering in other countries’ internal affairs… and instead focus its energy on promoting regional peace, stability.”
Over time, the US, Germany, and the UK have made several measures to phase out Huawei and other Chinese tech equipment from their 5G network core market. And the latest step taken for Panama is no different direction in this case.
Although the fact is that Huawei still owns the best telecommunication and 5G network solutions that are not only efficient but also cost-effective. How this matter will proceed and what changes it will bring on board would be worth looking at!
