Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) ranked Huawei in the top place for its actions on climate change and transparency of disclosures, which is a big praise for the tech maker.

According to the information, Huawei has been placed in “A List” category and is the only Chinese company to get this honor. That’s not it, CDP also gave Huawei an “Excellent Environmental Leadership Award”.

The company has been praised for its initiative such as “Tech for a Better Planet”, which adheres to increasing the value of green development and motivates to fight against climate change.

ICT technologies are one of the biggest contributors to carbon emissions and Huawei is finding new ways to reduce carbon emissions, promote renewable energy, contribute to a circular economy, and protect nature.

To make these changes, Huawei is focusing on key digital power business areas such as clean power generation, electrification of transport, and green ICT infrastructure to support the global energy transition.

As of 2022, Huawei helped its customers to generate over 695.1 billion kWh of green power, and reduce power consumption by 19.5 billion kWh, which is equivalent to avoiding nearly 340 million tons of CO2 emissions.

Huawei said it is committed to using more eco-friendly materials and green packaging to lower carbon emissions in creating new products and producing more durable devices that will contribute to reducing waste.

The achieve this goal, Huawei is working with environmental protection organizations and scientific research institutions to adapt better ways and protect forests, wetlands, oceans, and nature as a whole.
