Android 16 split-screen mode may offer easier multitasking than ever

Google is seemingly planning to makeover split-screen mode with Android 16. The company could add some new split options in the upcoming software version. These add-ons will eventually make multitasking easier than ever for phone users.
Mishaal Rahman – an Android analyst noted that Android 16 could further enhance the split-screen mode with a new 90:10 split option. This option will let users experience more flexible multitasking than in the previous software version.
Android devices currently offer a 50:50 or 70:30 ratio. The first option will divide the phone’s display interface into two parts. You can watch two apps in equal proportions under this option. Meanwhile, the second choice lets you increase the size of the important slide while showing the less important side in a small frame.
Now the US tech giant is planning to add one more option to the split-screen mode: 90:10. Simply put, one of the two apps will take up 90% of the screen while the other application will take up the remaining 10%, making multitasking easier.
The company has silently updated the split-screen code in the Android 16 DP 2, supporting the 90:10 option. Android Authority showed how resizing the divider becomes easy in the new option. One can enlarge the small window by tapping on it.
It is a perfect addition in cases where you want to focus on one part while using the other only for reference. It offers more flexibility to your hands than before.
Google is also allegedly working on a “bubble anything” feature that enables users to put any application in the floating bubble. As a result, you can easily access it.
