Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2 shows a refreshed Gemini launch animation

Android 16 is now official for Pixel devices but Google is constantly testing new tweaks and the latest one includes a minimalistic animation for the AI assistant – Gemini. The company is exploring a new way to open your smart virtual helper.
Gemini is Google’s personal, proactive, and powerful AI assistant. It is both an AI LLM and a chatbot that will help you with your daily life smartphone operations.
In the latest edition, Google is giving a refreshed look to Gemini animation in the Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2 update. As soon as users will press and hold the power button to wake up the Gemini assistant, the current screen will start shrinking.
Simply put, the black borders of the screen will shrink in and out, sliding up the Gemini assistant with certain options like share screen, ask about screen, and Ask Gemini.
The rest of the animation remains the same as the earlier version. On the flip side, the new animation is introducing some haptic feedback for a good experience.

Users will feel vibration while enabling the Gemini assistant via the home tab. Currently, the haptic part is missing in the Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2 while launching Gemini with the power button. It could be a software bug and may be fixed soon.
Overall, the new Gemini launch animation in the Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2 is a neat and subtle treatment. Although the information reveals that it’s a part of a limited rollout, and only a few Pixel smartphone users may experience it at present.
