Google has a secret feature for the lock screen clock on the Android 16 QPR 1 Beta 2 update. The hidden capability will enable smartphone users to give a new look to the default lock screen clock by changing its font. Let’s check this feature in detail.

Android 16 unlocks various customization features. Whether it’s home or lock screen, the update has interesting capabilities for every UI segment of the device.

The company introduced a bunch of new lock screen clock customizations with the Android 16 QPR1 first beta update. But in the second build, it has added a hidden feature that can make the lock screen’s default clock more subtle and impressive.

als26 from Reddit found that there is a new font style customization tool in the Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2. It enables you to change the font style of the clock from sharp to round. All you have to do is – tap the lock screen clock preview in the editor.

As soon as users switch the fonts, it will highlight a prompt saying that the style has changed. Users will also get the option to undo their latest step. Note that this feature will only work with the default lock screen.

Google hasn’t mentioned whether it will roll out these customizations to more lock screen clocks or keep them confined to the default one. But we can at least expect to see more interesting UI features with the upcoming Android 16 QPR versions.
