Android 16 making Advanced Protection mode more useful with apps list

Google is making the Advanced Protection mode in Android 16 even more advanced with a new “Apps List”. This feature will soon tell users which of the applications on their device are using the brand-new security features for a better experience.

Advanced Protection is familiar for its high-level security features that keep your phone safe against online attacks. It is perfect to shield your data from restricting sideloading apps, blocking USB access, and disabling insecure network connections.

The feature often allows certain apps on your device to use this segment to prevent malware or any other privacy exploits. Although it doesn’t allow you to check which of your device applications are actually running, this feature.

Now the company is making this Advanced Protection feature more useful in Android 16 with a new apps list. The new interface in the Advanced Protection segment will enable users to learn about the apps using security features.

All you have to do is go to Settings and then select the Security and Privacy section. Tap on the Advanced Protection, and it will show a link at the end of the page with the following description:

“Apps on your device are allowed to check whether you have device protection on, so they can provide additional protection.”
“Apps that checked for device protection”

Tapping on the link will open a new page showing all the applications that are using the Advanced Protection mode. The feature has appeared in the latest Google Play Services Beta version 25.33.32.

Note that this feature is still in the development phase and has not gone live yet. Also, the new interface currently shows only Google apps like Chrome, Play Store, Messages, Phone, and more. Though it may soon get third-party app support as well.
