Android 16 (HyperOS) Developer Preview Program for the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro. The company has announced the major upgrade DP for top flagship models in China and the global market. Let’s check the details of this program.

Developer Preview provides early access to unreleased features. It is mainly for developers to test the first version of the software and prepare their apps for upcoming releases as well as provide honest feedback regarding the software.

Xiaomi has opened the HyperOS-based Android 16 Developer Preview for the standard Xiaomi 15 and 14T Pro (Redmi K70 Extreme Edition in China).

The Android 16 DP is free for developers. They can flash the preview build file and can use it immediately. Before proceeding, you must have these baseline versions:

• Xiaomi 15: HyperOS2.0.109.0 or above
• Xiaomi 14T Pro: HyperOS2.0.103.0 or above

Note that the Android 16 Developer Preview Upgrade will erase data of your device. Hence, ensure you take a backup before installing the new build. We also suggest using a stable Wi-Fi connection and having sufficient storage on your phone.

You can download the preview build from the global Xiaomi website. Copy the ROM upgrade to the phone storage. Now, visit Settings > About Phone > Click on the system icon > three dots > Choose update package and select the downloaded ROM.

Developers can share their feedback via the Android Beta Feedback app in the Developer Preview. Beta builds often result in lagging, overheating, freezing, and various bugs. If you want to return to the stable HyperOS update, then tap HERE.
