Android 16 could revert to an old-style Quick Settings feature

Google is planning to adopt an Android 8 Quick Settings feature with the next version – Android 16. The company used to make certain significant changes to the Quick Settings with every OS. And the next build won’t be an exception in this theory.
However this time, the US tech giant may revert to an old-style Quick Settings feature for Android 16. It could resemble one of the useful features of Android 8.1 Oreo.
Android Authority noted that Google will revamp the behavior of Bluetooth as well as Internet Quick Settings tiles in the next upgrade. Tapping these tabs will eventually expand them within the Control Center itself to perform certain operations.
Unlike Android 15 which pops out both tiles into floating panels, the expansion feature will show the nearby Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth devices in Android 16.
Mishaal Rahman found a ‘detailed view’ feature in the Android 16 Beta 1. This addition reflects a new Quick Setting tile. When enabled, the Internet and Bluetooth tiles expand in the same place instead of popping out into a separate window.

The feature is currently in the development stage and showed a lack of information and buggy behavior. It leads to notification swiping issues and some other defects. Hence, it is unclear if Google will bring this change with Android 16 in the future or not.
However, Google is planning new changes for the Quick Settings with the next Android version. Inputs reveal that the 16th build will bring customizable Quick Settings with a new layout and resize tile capability (can shrink to 1 x 1). It would be worth seeing what new upgrades users will witness with the upcoming major upgrade.
