Android 16 beta users facing random reboots during phone calls

Android 16 is running in the beta phase, which means Pixel users will get a few amazing features alongside frustrating bugs. Following the Android 16 Beta 1 installation, some users are reporting ‘random reboots’ struggle during phone calls.
Pixel 7 smartphone users are dealing with random reboots while being on calls. The irritating issue is ruining the calling experience and interrupting conversations.
Simply put, the phone begins the restart process unexpectedly in the middle of a phone call. One of the users said that his device faced the issue four out of five times in every 5 minutes. Others said that the issue even wiped out call logs.
The issue leads to disconnecting calls in the middle. It is frustrating at times when you are on an important call, but the phone leaves you in the mid-way due to the nasty “random reboot” bug. Android 16 beta seems more of a headache to Pixel 7 users.
While the update is not troubling every user, it has been reported by several Pixel 7 series (Pixel 7a, standard, and Pro models). Google released Android 15 QPR2 Beta 3 last month for its Pixel users but seemingly didn’t check the ongoing problems.
The company has marked the bug as a “high-priority” issue in the Android issue tracker. An official community moderator said that the issue has been escalated to the product and engineering teams.
Perhaps the tech giant will soon roll out a fix to Android 16 beta random reboots during phone calls issue. Till then, keep patience and try switching off or factory reset to temporarily pause the problem.
Note that beta software updates are buggy versions. While they introduce new features ahead of the stable release, they also lead to frustrating issues. Hence, proceed with the beta installations at your own risk and with certain precautions.
