Android 16 Beta 3 introduces exciting Quick Settings tweaks

Android 16 Beta 3 is rolling out with some attractive Quick Settings upgrades. The company has added more new features such as custom icon shapes for the app drawer, redesigned notification panel, changes for the lock screen clock, and more.
Google has recently kicked off the Android 16 Beta 3 for Pixel devices. The new build unlocks several new features. Some of these are related to the Quick Settings.
Spotted first by Android Authority, the company redesigned the notification panel entirely. The first major change is the time, which is now visible at the top of the panel in huge fonts, matching the style of the lock screen’s clock.
Next, the notification panel now has a wider and more recognizable bar for Clear all, notification settings, and notification history buttons. Instead of a transparent background, the panel now has a fully opaque style for a clearer look.
The company has also upgraded swipe gestures for the Quick Settings and Notification Panel. Swiping the phone from the top-left will open alerts while from the right will show Quick Settings. One can also tap on left-right tabs to switch panels.

Apart from Quick Settings, customized icon shapes have also peeked in the Android 16 Beta 3. Users can alter the shape of app icons on the home screen. The feature was available in the past but went off from Android 12. It seems the company is finally bringing it back with the upcoming software version.
Note that none of these features are live yet. But the new tweaks suggest that Google is working on major changes for Quick Settings and may introduce them with the stable Android 16 update.
