Android 15 Phone Link Notification

Android 15 users are facing an annoying notification issue with the Windows Phone Link app. Installing the major upgrade on the device limits the app to show certain notifications. The app is unable to fix this issue via temporary solutions.

Windows Phone Link app is a Microsoft tool that makes collaboration easy between devices. It enables you to connect your Windows PC to your Android phone.

Once connected, you can view notifications, receive calls, reply to messages, look for contacts, and operate phone apps easily on your PC without any other equipment.

However, the app began malfunctioning after the Android 15 update. Inputs reveal that the major update automatically hides notifications from untrusted apps. It does so to avoid revealing any sensitive information on the phone’s screen.

Simply put, Android 15 prevents third-party apps from accessing notifications that are “sensitive”. Sensitive notifications here are those alerts that have a two-factor authentication code. Only trusted or system apps can access these notifications.

While the Android 15 feature is quite good, it led to a notification issue in the Windows Phone Link app. Mishaal Rahman – the Android observer recently noticed that the app started warning users about the notification bug caused by the new update.

“With the latest Android updates, Phone Link no longer shows notifications that contain sensitive details for your protection.”

Notably, the Phone Link app can bypass this restriction on Samsung handsets with One UI 6.1.1 or later versions. But other devices are still struggling.

Many users tried to reinstall the app and reboot their phones. But these solutions didn’t work. Perhaps, Google may fix this issue with the upcoming rollouts.
