Android 13 software updates devices

Google has taken some mandatory steps for the devices that will upgrade to the latest Android interface. Eventually, Android 13 will support improved and seamless software updates for smartphone devices with the help of a virtual A/B system.

Google makes sure that all its devices are running on updated systems. It constantly rolls out new builds that shield your smart gadget from the latest vulnerabilities. Besides, it provides freshly released patches to secure the internal system.

However, some users don’t like to keep their devices up-to-date on a regular basis. Maybe the fear of interface breakage or damage and deletion of data are the reasons behind such actions. Thus, most of the users remain inactive in the updates section.

Consequently, for such users and devices, Google is returning to the speed up track of software updates with Android 13. The company has introduced the A/B virtual scheme and added support for duplicate partitions as A and B forms. This scheme will serve as Seamless Updates to the users.

As a result, instead of turning off your device and booting the update, the Seamless Updates will conduct the installation in the background even when the Android device is running. Thereafter, it will opt for a quick reboot, and voila, your smart gadget upgrade is complete!

This will make the software updates easier, faster, and more efficient for Android devices. Although, tech makers like Samsung do not support such schemes, so far. Therefore, Google has made virtual A/B support compulsory for certifying GMS on smartphones that will release with Android 13.

Earlier, the US manufacturer made this rule with traditional Android 11. But at that time, Google has taken its steps back and just updated the Android 11 Compatibility Definition Document (CDD). Since there was no enforcement, many OEMs took this statement lightly.

Though this time, things have become more strict. Google mentioned that companies will only be able to provide Google Mobile Services to their consumers when they will add the support of a virtual A/B system on their devices. Accordingly, every user will be able to enjoy the experience of Seamless Updates after this implementation.
