Android 13 QPR1 beta 3.1 removes Vo5G on some Pixel 7

A few days ago, Google rolled out Android 13 QPR1 Beta 3.1 for beta testers, and some users reported losing Vo5G on some Google Pixel 7 smartphones. Google is rolling out the Android 13 QPR1 Beta 3.1 patch (T1B3.221003.008) for Pixel 4a, 5, 5a, 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, and 7 Pro series devices.

Vo5G:

Vo5G is similar to the voice in today’s 4G networks. In 4G LTE, voice calls are implemented as end-to-end Voice over IP (VoIP) connections managed by an IMS core. Voice and video communication services in these networks ride on top of the IP data connection. When the call happens over LTE, it is called Voice over LTE (VoLTE), and when it is over Wi-Fi, it is known as Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWi-Fi).

Issue:

A Pixel 7 user on Reddit wrote: “Just noticed that it’s gone now, was there in beta 3.0 – anyone else?” Another user in the comment replied with a solution that the Android 13 QPR1 beta 3.1 Vo5G issue may require it to re-enable manually.

However, a user revealed that the option is gone and there’s no way to get it back. On the other hand, a user shared instructions to get this option back on phone (here’s the link)

Android 13 QPR1 Beta 3.1 is available to download for the existing beta build. As it may take up to 24 hours to receive the OTA update on your device. You can check for updates by going to Settings > System > System updates.
