At Huawei Developer Conference 2020, Huawei unveiled its latest smartphone software skin – EMUI 11. This new version of EMUI offers a lot of new features but there’s a catch that it’s still based on Android 10.
Meanwhile, there’s a new confirmation that Huawei is still on an Android 11 version of the EMUI 11 that will ship pre-loaded on Huawei Mate 40 Pro in Europe.
Although Huawei is not able to access Google Mobile services (GMS) due to the U.S. ban, it still can use open-source Android 11 as EMUI 11 base.
To be noted, Huawei is testing EMUI 11 in different countries and it’s rolling out the beta version based on Android 10 for Huawei P40 series and Mate 30 Pro. Following the stable rollout, these phones likely to get upgraded on Android 11 but there’s no confirmation on that available at the moment.
