Huawei recently became the first smartphone maker to launch AI large-scale model in its Voice Assistant and other smartphone makers including Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo might also follow the same path.

Input from DigitalChatStation reveals that Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo could also use large-scale models to improve the smartness of their products. Although, there’s no confirmation about a specific product but it’s very likely that these products could be only smartphones.

In April, Alibaba Cloud announced that it will jointly build large-scale technologies for Oppo. The aim of this cooperation is to provide AI smartness for the end users. Vivo is reportedly working on its pre-training model 3m-text for natural language learning tasks, dialogue, multimodal, and other generative AI tools.

On the other hand, Xiaomi also suggested reporting large-scale model MiLM-6B in C-Eval and CMMLU large model evaluation lists.

Last week, Huawei released the new Celia assistant, which is using Huawei’s self-developed Pangu 3.0 large-scale model. The voice assistant can now do more than just be a voice assistant. You can tell it to write a text summary of a context, all you need to do is to give Celia a command and it will generate the text.

On the other hand, Celia can also recognize an image and extract its key aspects for you. The Huawei voice assistant has better control over the device, such as changing the wallpaper or setting a new theme. Starting this month, Celia will begin its closed beta activity with limited testers and the company will make it public once the test is finished.

After implementing large scale model, Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo could also achieve such AI access and better user experience in its smartphones and other devices. None of these has an official launch date and we’ll have to wait for details.
