After Huawei, Honor announces DeepSeek R1 support for selected devices

Honor has announced DeepSeek R1 support for selected devices. After the Huawei Celia app, Honor is the second smartphone maker to bring DeepSeek support for its handsets. The company has connected the new AI model to its Assistant app.
Celia app supports DeepSeek R1. The application released the first beta build of the R1 AI model and allowed HarmonyOS NEXT users to explore smarter experiences.
Now Honor YOYO Assistant is compatible with DeepSeek R1 and brings new AI services for selected devices. Users running their devices on MagicOS 8.0 or above versions are eligible to explore the new China-made AI technology.
Meanwhile, you need to ensure that your YOYO Assistant app runs on the 80.0.1.503 or above versions. After updating the app, visit the YOYO smart store to search for the new AI assistant and initiate a conversation.
The DeepSeek R1 window welcomes users with the following description:
“I am an intelligent agent based on the open-source version of the DeepSeek-R1, dedicated to bringing users an immersive deep thinking experience, helping users to dig deeper and gain insight into the essence in the process of exploring knowledge, solving problems, and stimulating creativity.”
Note that this is a beta version and may result in certain bugs or issues in the first-time experience. Although the company could soon launch a stable version.
Apart from Huawei and Honor, more phone makers will likely join this AI DeepSeek R1 trend in the time ahead and will offer interesting capabilities to users.
