A new-gen Huawei MatePad 12-inch tablet is reportedly on the way

Huawei has reportedly started developing a new 12-inch MatePad tablet. As per early rumors, the company will begin launching its new-gen tablet series in the second half of this year. One of these may debut alongside the Pura 80 flagship.
The Chinese phone maker has recently unveiled a new-gen flagship tablet in the global market – MatePad Pro 12.2. It was expected to debut along with the Nova 14 series in China. Though Huawei kept the event confined to limited devices.
But as revealed by SmartPikachu, Huawei has some new MatePad devices in the pipeline, including a 12-inch tablet, and the OEM will soon launch it in China.
As per early revelations, Huawei could unveil some dynamic tablets at the Pura 80 launch event. One of these is an 8.8-inch MatePad product. Leaks reveal that the small device will bring many new upgrades over the MatePad T8 tablet.

MatePad Air 2024 12-inch
Last year, Huawei introduced the MatePad Air 2024 12-inch tablet with an elegant design and soft colors. The device debuted with a Cloud Clear Soft Light Screen and brought in some AI features to boost productivity aspects of the device.
The device supports HarmonyOS PC-level apps like the WPS Office suite, Huawei Notes, and an upgraded GoPaint app. It not only has an attractive all-metal seamless design but also enhanced AI features – thanks to the Smart Celia assistant.
Huawei is now preparing another 12-inch tablet with probably flagship capabilities and enhancements over the previous-gen device. The phone maker could seed some new AI functions into the upcoming device or give it a new makeover.
The company may also boost the performance of the device with an optimized Kirin 5G chip. Other parameters of the new-gen 12-inch tablet are currently a secret. Though we may find these revelations in the coming days.
